Forensics and Incident Response
The concept of perfect security is a misnomer, therefore an organisation should be well prepared for a security incident, both in terms of how to effectively and calmly deal with it during the event, as well as how to identify strong and reliable evidence after it has happened. Digital Assurance offers a computer forensics and incident response partner agreement to organisations so that when an incident occurs valuable time is not wasted in finding an independent third-party, or negotiating contracts.
Incident Response & Handling
Digital Assurance can offer independent management and co-ordination of computer security incidents and ensure that normal operation is resumed within reasonable timescales.
Effective incident response identifies the source and extent of the security breach, advises on practical and effective ways to eliminate any intrusion and provides recommendations on how to ensure that there is no repeat occurrence.
Information Systems Forensics
Computer forensics involves analysing computer hardware (e.g. hard-disks, memory, or tapes used in servers, desktops, PDAs, mobile phones, etc) to identify information that is pertinent to an investigation.
Using tools and methodologies compliant with the Association of Chief Police Officer's (ACPO) guide to acquiring computer-based evidence, our consultants can identify all information and residual data pertaining to specific search criteria and offer an informed decision as to whether criminal, malicious and/or unauthorised use of a information technology resources has occurred.
